Shuyi Yin is a graduate of the Historic Preservation Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Her thesis on borates and oil preservative combinations for the conservation of exterior wood evaluates aqueous diffusible borates in combination with a penetrating oil and a nano-size iron oxide and zinc oxide based wood preservative system for cypress (Taxodium distichum) and western redcedar (Thuja plicata). She holds an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Zhejiang University in China and has worked for multiple architectural firms with the practice of project management, architectural design and adaptive reuse.
