Post-Graduate Fellow in Paper Conservation
Michal Mikesell is the Post-Graduate Fellow in Paper Conservation at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, where she is focusing on assessment, selective analysis, and treatment of contemporary collages in the collection. She is interested in commercially-produced, modern papers and their use by contemporary artists. Her work previously at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, McManus Conservation, the Clyfford Still Museum, and the Denver Art Museum influenced her interest in modern and contemporary art. Michal received her MA with CAS in art conservation from SUNY Buffalo State, and her BA in Chemistry and Fine Arts from Manhattanville College.
