Chris Norris is Senior Collections Manager for Vertebrate Paleontology at the Yale Peabody Museum. He received his doctorate in Zoology from the University of Oxford in 1992 and has worked in natural history collections for more than 20 years at Oxford, the American Museum of Natural History, and Yale. He is a former president of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections, a founder member of the Integrated Pest Management Working Group, and a member of the Advisory Council for the Biodiversity Collections Network. His current research focuses on development of web-based tools for educational access to collections data, and quantification of value and development of value-based advocacy strategies for natural history collections. He is one of the lead editors of the multi-author volume Preventive Conservation: Collection Storage (scheduled for publication in 2017), and has written and blogged extensively on issues related to natural history collections (see paleocoll.blogspot.com).
