Vikram Singh Rathore is a seasoned museum professional who possesses extensive experience in Museum Object Conservation, collection care, research, conservation project planning, and operation. He currently holds the Management postion at the Conservation Department in Mehrangarh Museum, Jodhpur. His area of specialization is paper-based material conservation, with a particular focus on miniature painting. He has worked on various conservation-related areas, including international museum exhibitions, preventive care, climate monitoring, and museum storage of objects made from both organic and inorganic materials. He has participated in various projects, including prestigious international ones, and has played a role in organizing and conducting internship programs for conservation students from India and abroad.
He graduated from Ajmer University and holds a Master's degree as well. He did research under Fulbright fellowship in Doctoral and Professional research category. He has been an intern at World known Victoria & Albert Museum, London as well as at the British Library, London, and achieved several international research fellowships, including the prestigious Fulbright, Mellon, and UK Visiting Fellowship. Additionally, He has been awarded grants from Getty Travel, the Netherlands Culture Department, and FAIC to present research paper articles at international museum platforms such as AIC [ American Institute for Conservation] and ICOM-CC.
Apart from his professional work, Mr. Rathore is an active social worker in the field of heritage conservation. He is also a consultant to various museums and art collection institutions, providing his services free of charge.
