Luci Cipera works as a conservator at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Luci joined the Canadian Museum of Nature in 2004 on the team responsible for moving the bird and mammal galleries during the museum’s renovation. She is a graduate of the Master of Art Conservation program at Queen’s University. She has worked at the Canadian Museum of History, Canadian Conservation Institute and Parks Canada. At the Canadian Museum of Nature, Luci works with a team to ensure the preservation of the museum’s 14 million natural history specimens, as well as its archive, library and art collections. She manages a preventive conservation program which includes integrated pest management; environmental monitoring; staff and volunteer training; risk assessment and planning for collections storage and the use of specimens for exhibitions and programming.
